Importing peanuts from India involves navigating customs documentation, phytosanitary requirements, and shipping logistics. This guide covers everything a first-time buyer needs to understand before placing an order with SK Enterprise or any Indian peanut exporter.
Understanding Incoterms
The three most common trade terms for Indian peanut exports are:
FOB โ Free On Board (Mundra / Kandla)
The seller (SK Enterprise) is responsible for all costs and risks until the goods are loaded onto the vessel at the named Indian port. From that point, the buyer takes responsibility.
FOB is preferred by buyers who have their own freight forwarder and want control over shipping costs.
CIF โ Cost, Insurance & Freight
SK Enterprise arranges and pays for shipping and insurance to the named destination port. The risk transfers to the buyer once goods are loaded at the Indian port โ the same as FOB โ but we handle the freight booking and insurance.
CIF is popular for buyers who prefer a single invoice price.
DAP โ Delivered at Place
We deliver to a named destination in the buyer's country, cleared for import duties. The buyer only pays import duties and unloading at their facility.
DAP suits buyers who want the simplest transaction.
